YOU'LL NEED

5 basic details

Short answer: Swype uses a light KYC model. You'll need to provide some basic personal details, but no passport, ID card, or document upload is required at this stage.

What information is required

To sign up and use Swype, you're asked to provide five pieces of basic personal information:

1
Full name
2
Email address
3
Residential address
4
Date of birth
5
Phone number

What's NOT required right now

At this stage, Swype does not ask for any documentary identity verification. That means:

No passport upload
No national ID card or driver's license
No selfie or liveness check
No proof-of-address document (utility bill, bank statement, etc.)

Why this can vary or change

The light KYC model described above is the baseline today, but it isn't fixed forever or identical for everyone. Requirements may differ based on:

Card type — some card products carry different risk profiles
Geography — some countries require stricter verification by law
Issuing bank — each issuer can set its own onboarding bar

Important

Swype may request additional verification at any time if needed to meet regulatory, card scheme, or risk obligations. If you're asked for extra documentation later, it's part of this same framework — not a sign something went wrong with your account.

Got asked for more documentation?

That's expected behavior under this framework — reach out if you have questions about what's being requested.
