PHYSICAL CARDS Roadmap item |
Summary: Swype currently issues virtual cards exclusively. Physical card availability is subject to roadmap prioritization and issuer approval — it isn't something you can request or schedule today.

What virtual-only means for your program |
Every cardholder on your program receives a fully functional virtual card — full PAN, expiry, and CVV, ready for use immediately on issuance. There's no print-and-mail step, no physical fulfillment vendor, and no shipping logistics to manage on your end. Practically, that means:
| ● | Instant issuance — no fulfillment delay between approval and a usable card |
| ● | No physical card production, shipping, or replacement cost on your program |
| ● | Card use is limited to card-not-present transactions and digital wallet provisioning (Apple Pay / Google Pay) |
| ● | No in-person swipe or chip-and-PIN use case unless provisioned to a wallet first |

Where physical cards sit on the roadmap |
Physical card issuance is not currently available, and it isn't gated by a single decision on our side. Two things have to align before it ships:
|
Issuer approval Physical card programs require separate sign-off from our issuing bank partners, independent of the virtual card program already in place. |
Roadmap prioritization Even with issuer approval in place, physical fulfillment is a separate build that has to be scheduled against other product priorities. |
|
Important Don't commit physical card support to your end users or in external marketing until you have written confirmation from your Swype account contact. There's no committed date, and roadmap items can shift. |
